A storage service for NFT content. Using the IPFS storage system, Pinata features "submarining," which makes its files private. To reverse a submarined file, it has to be uploaded again. The Pinata name comes from both "pin" and the Spanish party container that holds candy, but it is spelled without the tilde over the "n." Founded in 2018, by 2022, more than 70 million files were "pinned" on Pinata. See
