Redirected from: roll-up phone

Definition: rollable smartphone

A smartphone with a screen that rolls back into the case like a window shade. Rollable phones become the size of small tablets but take up considerably less room in a pocket or purse than even foldable phones. At CES 2021, TCL and LG demonstrated rollable phones without revealing production dates. Enabling the screen to withstand thousands of rollups are major technical issues to solve. In the meantime, foldable phones have become available (see foldable phone and FOLED).
