Definition: midrange GPU

A graphics processing unit (GPU) that falls between entry level and high-end offerings. For example, in April 2025, PCMag highlighted two midrange GPUs for gamers: NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5060 Ti ($429) and AMD's Radeon RX 9070 ($549). Which GPU was recommended depended on resolution required, type of PC the card would be installed in and other factors. For comparison, high-end GPUs can cost more than $2,000 and low-end cards less than $100. See GPU and graphics card.

Offered in 2025 on Amazon for $435 with NVIDIA's RTX 3070 GPU and 8GB of memory, the midrange card (top) plugs into a Windows computer via the PC Express bus. Macs require an external enclosure (see external GPU). With 16GB of memory, the high-end RTX 5080 GPU (bottom) retailed for $1,519, also on Amazon.
