Definition: PMOS


(Positive-channel MOS) Pronounced "p-moss." A type of transistor used in the first microprocessors in the early 1960s. By themselves, PMOS transistors are rarely used today, but they are widely used in conjunction with NMOS transistors to provide CMOS logic. See CMOS, PMOS, MOSFET and NMOS vs. PMOS.
