Definition: PC memory


(1) The main memory in a PC, which is made up of dynamic RAM chips. See memory module, SDRAM and dynamic RAM.

(2) The original memory in PCs running under DOS was limited to one megabyte. This caused confusion, and one of the reasons Windows 3.0 became the first popular version of Windows was because it handled the memory issues automatically. See PC memory management.
