Definition: Optimus

Tesla's general-purpose robot. In 2022, Optimus was introduced at Tesla's AI Day, and videos showing several of this "friendly" robot's capabilities were released a year later. Optimus is expected to be used in manufacturing, hazardous work, agriculture, elderly care, running errands and healthcare.

More Optimus Robots than People
Elon Musk said that by the late 2020s, Optimus will be performing more and better surgeries than all the human surgeons on earth. He also said that by 2040 there will be more Optimus robots than people.

Prepare Mars or the Moon
Musk has said he planned to send Optimus robots to Mars to prepare the planet for humans. However, experts such as Neil deGrasse Tyson have claimed that this is not achievable because of the planet's hostile conditions. It seems Musk listened because his latest priority is to enable his robots to build a city on the Moon. Stay tuned! See robot, SpaceX and Tesla.
