Definition: Google Knowledge Graph

Google's compilation of more than 70 billion facts and figures. The Google Knowledge Graph provides the source for a summary of pertinent data at the top or near the top of the results list in Google searches. Because of the Knowledge Graph, users may get the information they require without having to link to websites in the search results. Introduced in 2012, the Knowledge Graph uses data from Wikipedia, Wikidata and other sources. The Freebase knowledge base was part of the Knowledge Graph but was moved to Wikidata in 2015. See Google Knowledge Vault, Freebase, Wikidata and Semantic Web.
