Definition: Gemini Trust


(Gemini Trust Company, LLC, New York) The first regulated cryptocurrency exchange in the U.S. Introduced in 2015 by the Winklevoss brothers, famous for their early involvement in social media (portrayed in the 2010 movie "The Social Network"). Gemini became licensed in New York State in 2016.

Using the Ethereum blockchain, the Gemini U.S. Dollar (GUSD) is a stablecoin pegged to the dollar one for one (see stablecoin). Gemini enables trading in several dozen digital currencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.

Gemini Earn
