Definition: CMOS memory

(1) A small, battery-backed memory bank in a computer that holds configuration settings. See BIOS setup.

(2) A RAM chip that uses complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) transistors. Most memory is based on CMOS. See CMOS and SDRAM.
