Replacing BlackBerry's proprietary operating system, Key models took advantage of BlackBerry's experience with security in the enterprise. Starting in 2017, BlackBerry phones supported the Android Enterprise Recommended program that separated business from personal use so that company-owned phones could be managed securely while employees enjoyed their phones when out of the office. In 2018, the Key2 was the last BlackBerry Key model.
