Definition: Anduril

A defense technology company co-founded by Oculus headset creator Palmer Luckey along with Brian Schimpf, Trae Stephens, Matt Grimm and Joseph Chen (see Meta Quest). Anduril Industries builds AI-based drones, robots, rockets and submarines. Founded in 2017, Anduril took advantage of the Department of Defense mandate to add AI to the battlefield especially using remote controlled and autonomous weapons without human pilots. Needless to say, U.S. government agencies are its major customers. See UAV.

From The Lord of the Rings
The name of the company comes from the fictional sword of Aragorn, the protagonist in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings." See AI companies.
