Definition: conversational interface

A voice recognition and natural language interface for a computer or mobile device. Virtual assistants such as Siri, Google Assistant, Cortana and Amazon Echo feature conversational interfaces. In China, where the language is a lot more tedious to type, especially on small keyboards, conversational interfaces are dramatically enhancing search queries. The artificial intelligence (AI) labs at Baidu, China's largest search engine, spend considerable resources perfecting speech recognition and natural language processing.
