Definition: V2G


(Vehicle-to-Grid) Sending electricity from an electric vehicle (EV) to the electric company. Turning each EV into a mini power plant, the V2G incentive is to charge the car at night when electricity is least expensive and return the energy during the day when the cost is higher. Tesla's Nationwide V2G
Tesla envisions a nationwide V2G system ultimately using millions of Teslas that are charged at night and feeding the grid during the day. This is a huge undertaking considering the rules and regulations of local jurisdictions and power companies. Nevertheless, it is a plan in progress.
