Considering that AI is documented everywhere billions of times, it is certain SI will not replace AI entirely. Not only that, the "super" term already means something (see
Super AGI).
However, "artificial" is indeed a peculiar branding because every device with a chip is considered "intelligent." The extraordinary capabilities of today's AI are artificial but your washing machine is "entirely" intelligent. There is validity in seeing the AI name as inadequate.
Nevertheless
To change the most significant term in the industry in the middle of the most dramatic tech evolution in history is lunacy. It is akin to changing "computer" to another word. Let's hope it fades quickly! If not, there will have to be a new term for real "super intelligence." Stay tuned!
