Two or more modes. Multimodal may refer to any function in which two or more methods are used. Multimodal text is the written word plus images. Multimodal teaching uses books, videos and instructor-led presentations. Multimodal AI accepts two or more kinds of input for training (see multimodal AI). Contrast with "unimodal," which means only one method or mode. See mode.
