Definition: interaxial separation

The distance between two camera lenses used to capture a 3D image. Although interaxial separation is used synonymously with "interocular" separation, the latter is the distance between a person's two eyes, generally agreed to be 2.5 inches (65mm) in an adult male. See 3D visualization and 3D rendering.
