A current model iPhone, which includes the 4.7" iPhone 7 and 5.5" iPhone 7 Plus. Introduced in 2016, iPhones were water resistant for the first time. The line features an enhanced 12 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization. The 7 has one lens and a 5x digital zoom, while the 7 Plus has both a 28mm wide angle and 56mm portrait lens with 10x digital zoom. By including the focal length of the digital zoom, Apple branded the portrait lens as telephoto. Storage starts at 32GB rather than 16 on the iPhone 6, and the 7 series inaugurated iOS 10 and the A10 CPU, which has two energy-efficient and two high-performance cores.
A Push for Wireless - No More Analog Jack
Stereo speakers were added, but the big controversy was the elimination of the analog headphone jack, a cellphone staple for decades. However, Apple's corded EarPods with a Lightning connector are included, as well as a Lightning-to-headphone jack adapter for third-party corded headphones. Of course, any Bluetooth headset or headphones can be used. Apple also introduced its own wireless earbuds (see AirPods

Lightning to 3.5mm Analog Headphone Jack
Starting with the iPhone 7, an adapter is included that enables a traditional headphone cable to plug in via the Lightning connector.
