iPad models were named Air for their light weight. Introduced in October 2013 and 2014, Air models had the same 9.7" screen and 2048x1536 resolution as previous iPads but were thinner and lighter. In 2014, a barometer and Touch ID fingerprint sensor were included. The rear camera jumped from 5 to 8 megapixels, and faster Wi-Fi (802.11ac) was added.
