Definition: iFCP


(Internet Fibre Channel Protocol) A protocol that converts Fibre Channel frames into TCP packets, enabling native Fibre Channel devices in remote locations to be connected via an IP network. mFCP (Metro FCP) is the metropolitan area network (MAN) counterpart, which uses UDP instead of TCP for high-performance datacenters and metro networks.
