(2) (EDX Markets) A crypto exchange aimed at large financial institutions as well as crypto-only firms. Debuting in June 2023, EDX is a joint venture of Citadel Securities, Charles Schwab and Fidelity Digital Assets. Using a third-party custodian for the funds, EDX launched with support for only four cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

A Shot in the Arm
With crypto in a bear market and current SEC charges against the Coinbase and Binance crypto exchanges, the EDX launch, backed by such prominent players, was a major boost for the crypto world. See crypto exchange.
