Definition: e-hoarder

(Electronic-HOARDER) A person or company that holds onto electronic data for years longer than necessary. The cost of disk storage has become so inexpensive that many individuals and organizations are reluctant to spend the time to erase what is no longer necessary, and cleanup is often postponed.

However, in a corporate environment, the datacenter expense for storage eventually does add up, because daily backup procedures take longer. In addition, when analysis is required, it takes more machine time to sift through trillions of bytes of outdated and irrelevant data. See digital hoarder and Internet Archive.
