(1) A cartridge used to hold computer data. See cartridge.

(2) (Data Cartridge) An earlier 5.25" QIC-style magnetic tape technology that originally used the DC-6000 model designation. Tandberg Data enhanced the technology with its SLR line for use in medium to high-end server markets with native capacities up to 70GB. See QIC and magnetic tape.
