Definition: crdownload

(ChRomeDOWNLOAD) The extension assigned by the Chrome browser to a file in the process of being downloaded. Users may never see this extension if the file is small, but if large, the filename.crdownload will be visible in the downloads folder throughout the download.

When completely transferred, the file is renamed from crdownload to the original extension, for example MP4, which is a popular video file format and the type that is commonly visible as a crdownload file.
