Definition: WolframAlpha

A computational search engine that provides statistics for all major disciplines. Developed by Stephen Wolfram, inventor of the Mathematica software, WolframAlpha differs from major search engines in that it returns a fixed set of answers for queries rather than countless articles that contain the keywords. Launched in 2009, WolframAlpha.com was designed to return statistics and mathematical data about a subject rather than narrations, opinions and explanations. For example, searching for "IBM" returns the current stock price and other financial data about the company. See Mathematica.

The Results for 800 MHz
Entering "800 MHz" returned the above set of values. WolframAlpha was the first search engine to return facts rather than thousands of links to Web pages.
