Definition: cloud broker


(1) Software that creates a single management console into multiple cloud providers. When an enterprise uses more than one cloud vendor, the cloud broker software provides a central point of control for all the deployments in the different venues. See cloud computing.

(2) A third party that helps an organization move to a cloud computing environment. Services include the selection of a cloud provider or providers, contract negotiation, as well as configuration of the machine instances, migration to the cloud and monitoring. See cloud computing.
