Definition: cine

From "cinematography," cine refers to motion pictures shot on film and viewed on a flat, white surface with a film projector. From the Greek "kine," which means motion, the term was commonly used for home movies shot with 8, Super 8, 9.5 and 16mm film. "Cine," which is pronounced "sin-uh" as in "sin-uh-muh" (cinema), is a common prefix in the movie industry even in the days of digital. See cine-oriented, cinema and digital cinema.
