AI agents are independent systems that can activate on their own based on any event such as the time of day or specific data that is generated. Chatbots, on the other hand, react to the user's question, known as the "prompt." The chatbot cannot operate on its own without user intervention; however, it may be able to access external databases and resources if required, but only in response to the prompt. See
