Definition: business network
A local area network (LAN) in a commercial or government facility. Following are the primary network devices needed to make up the network. Contrast with home network. See Ethernet switch, router, access point and wireless LAN.
Separate Network Components
Unlike a home network, which typically has a single wireless router, business networks employ separate routers, switches and Wi-Fi access points. In large organizations, many additional switches, routers and access points are used.
