Definition: block explorer

Software for viewing a blockchain. Also called a "blockchain explorer," a block explorer displays the list of blocks starting with the last block number. It shows various elements such as the date, size and fees associated with each block. Block explorers typically let people search the chain by address, block number or block hash. See blockchain.
