Definition: Xerox Model A

Xerox's first copy machine, introduced in 1949. The Model A was not an easy machine to use. Numerous manual steps were required to make a plain paper copy. However, the Model A was popular for making offset printing masters, and corporations purchased the device primarily for that purpose. See Xerox and electrophotographic.
