Definition: RT jailbreaking

Enabling a Windows RT tablet to run a third-party application that does not come from the Windows Store. After RT tablets became available, jailbreaking software was developed to allow open source programs compiled for the ARM processor to run in RT. As soon as a "one-click" jailbreak tool became available, Microsoft hinted it would patch the RT operating system to prevent it from working. See Windows RT and jailbreaking.
