Definition: WinINSTALL


A Windows software packaging and deployment program from Scalable Software (www.scalable.com). The WinINSTALL Lifecycle Management Suite (LMS) version provides all WinINSTALL functions from a central console. Throughout the 1990s, WinINSTALL was the most widely used MSI installer on the market. Developed by OnDemand Software Corporation, WinINSTALL was acquired by, in order, Seagate Software, Veritas Software, a resurrected OnDemand Software, Attachmate Software and then Scalable Software (2008).
