Definition: Win10 Tablet mode

The Tablet mode in Windows 10 maximizes all apps to fill the entire screen. In addition, the Start menu is divided into two screens; one with tiles that can be rearranged by the user and another with all the apps listed alphabetially. To work with Windows 10, see Win10 mouse tips and Win10 touch tips.

Turn on Tablet Mode
Click or tap the Action Center icon at the right side of the taskbar to select Tablet Mode. To exit Tablet mode, click or tap Tablet mode again. See Windows Action Center.

Tiles and Apps Start Screens
The Tile screen displays all apps that have tiles associated with them, and they can be rearranged and resized by the user. The All apps screen is an alphabetical list of all the programs in the computer. Any app in the Apps menu can be replicated as a tile in the Tile screen (see Win10 mouse tips and Win10 touch tips).

Tablet Mode Icons
The Start menu displays the All apps or Tile screen depending on which one was active the last time it was used. Both screens have these same icons in the upper left corner. To switch to the other screen, click or tap the appropriate icon.
