Definition: Wi-Fi 7

The next generation of Wi-Fi likely to begin rolling out in 2025 and thereafter. Wi-Fi 7 is the Wi-Fi Alliance branding of the 802.11be standard from the IEEE. Operating in the same 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands, it is expected to deliver 40 Gbps and more when it finally arrives. Channel width doubles to 320 MHz, which is double the top channel in Wi-Fi 6. Wi-Fi 7 also adds Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which enables devices to send and receive simultaneously. See 802.11.
