Definition: Webcomic

A comic strip on the Web. There are thousands of Webcomics covering myriad subjects, some of which are also published in print. An advantage of Webcomics is that they can employ animations to enliven the story. Webcomics predate the Internet: the first being Witches and Stitches by Eric Millikin, published on CompuServe in the mid-1980s. See CompuServe.
