(2) Earlier cloud-based storage for licensed content from the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (see
DECE). Under the Digital HD brand, purchases of Blu-ray content from participating retailers entitled users to store their content in the UltraViolet cloud for streaming or downloading. Depending on the agreement, content may have been sharable with friends and family, and parental access could be applied. A physical disc may also have been obtainable. The service began in 2011 and ended in 2019. See
