Definition: Twitter Blue

A paid option for Twitter users launched in 2021, first in Australia and Canada and then the U.S. and New Zealand. Twitter Blue features an "undo tweet" up to 30 seconds, background themes, ad-free articles from websites, folders for bookmarking tweets and a mode that makes long threads easier to read. In addition, users can test new features before they make it to the general public.

Twitter Verification
Introduced in 2009, a blue check mark on a Twitter account meant that Twitter independently verified the user to be genuine. After Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter in 2022, the verification process became a feature of Twitter Blue using three colors: blue for people, gold for companies and gray for government entities.
