Launched initially for iOS users on Presidents' Day, February 21, 2022, Truth Social is a rebirth of Donald Trump's Twitter account which was deleted in January 2021 but later restored when Elon Musk acquired Twitter. On Truth Social, tweets are called "truths," and re-tweets are known as "re-truths." Truth Social uses a customized version of the Mastodon software. See
