Definition: TransferJet

A wireless technology that allows devices to exchange data when they are within a couple centimeters of each other or when they touch. For example, placing a digital camera onto a laptop automatically transfers the last pictures taken. Developed by Sony and governed by the TransferJet Consortium, founded in 2008, the maximum data transfer rate is 375 Mbps.
