Definition: TIFF/EP

(Tagged Image File Format/Electronic Photography) A bitmapped image file format designed to support RAW file formats generated in digital cameras. TIFF/EP is compatible with the traditional TIFF 6.0 format (1992), but it holds additional data about the camera's configuration used by the software that processes the RAW images. An image file may comply with TIFF/EP and Adobe's DNG format at the same time (see DNG image format). See RAW image format and TIFF.
