Definition: StrataFlash

A multilevel cell (MLC) flash memory technology from Intel that stores two or three bits per cell rather than one. The voltage across each cell is divided into four levels, enabling any of the possible combinations of two bits: 00, 01, 10 or 11. The StrataFlash technology evolved out of Intel's ETOX flash memory products. Three bits per cell are achieved with eight levels of voltage.
