The current macOS operating system (Version 14.0), introduced in 2023. Sonoma offers slow-motion screen savers and desktop widgets, which can be automatically transferred from the user's iPhone to the Mac desktop. Several videoconferencing capabilities are added, including the Presenter Overlay, which keeps the user in the conversation when sharing the screen. Users can float in a bubble over the shared screen to maintain presentation continuity and can be centered in the screen automatically.
Work and personal profiles can be maintained separately in Safari, and Safari's search provides relevant suggestions. Websites can be used just like apps, and private browsing has been enhanced. Message enhancements enable jumping to the first unseen message, and location data can be instantly shared.
PDF pages can be viewed and flipped through in Notes, and related notes can be linked. Tapping the space bar finishes words and entire sentences. More games are available, and sensitive content can be blurred before viewing. There is more control over what is shared, and an expanded Lockdown Mode spans multiple Apple devices.
