(Software & Information Industry Association, Washington, DC) A trade organization devoted to the health and welfare of the software and digital content industry by providing support in government relations, business development, education and intellectual property protection. The SIIA sponsors conferences, newsletters and awards and is the 1999 merger of the Software Publishers Association (SPA) and the Information Industry Association (IIA).

It conducts audits on organizations suspected of illegal copying and files lawsuits against violators. To blow the whistle on a company that has a policy of making illegal copies, call 800/388-PIR8.
