A metaverse gaming platform from Animoca Brands that runs on the Ethereum blockchain. The Sandbox allows developers to create 3D games in virtual worlds. Launched in 2012 by Pixowl for iOS and Android smartphones, The Sandbox was acquired by Animoca in 2018. Softbank invested $93 million in this gaming metaverse.

There are a maximum of 166,464 LANDs that players acquire as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to host games and create experiences. SAND is the native utility token for transactions and interactions. After partnering with Atari, Snoop Dogg and Adidas, The Sandbox received considerable attention from the press. In 2022, Snoop Dogg released the first music video on the platform.
