Definition: SYSLINUX


(SYStem LINUX) A Linux boot loader for FAT-based file systems. SYSLINUX is often used as a rescue OS to get a PC operating after a failed DOS or Windows boot. PXELINUX (Preboot Execution Environment Linux) is the version for booting from the network; ISOLINUX is bootable from a CD-ROM, and EXTLINUX is used for the ext2, ext3 and ext4 file systems.
