Definition: SNARC

(1) For the crypto protocol, see SNARK.

(2) (Stochastic Neural Analog Reinforcement Calculator) In 1951, the first artificial neural network was designed by Marvin Minsky and built by Dean Edmunds. Simulating 40 neurons with 3,000 vacuum tubes, the SNARC "Neurocomputer" is said to have learned by simulating a rat finding its way out of a maze. Similar to today's neural networks, SNARC was made to improve by adjusting the weights between neurons. See AI weights and biases and ELIZA.
