Definition: ResEdit

(ReSource EDITtor) A Mac system utility used to edit the resource fork, which is the location of program files in Apple's earlier file systems (see HFS). Apple discontinued ResEdit in 1994, but third parties kept it going with enhancements. See also RegEdit.
