Definition: RemoteFX


Enhancements that deliver rich graphics functions such as 3D and HD Video to client machines using Windows Server Remote Desktop Services. The content is rendered and compressed on the server and decompressed and displayed at the client side. Introduced in 2010 in Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, RemoteFX is based on technology from Calista Technologies, which Microsoft acquired in 2008. See Remote Desktop Services.
