Definition: RealPlayer

A multimedia player from RealNetworks that is used to download videos from the Web for playback at a later date. Available for Windows and Mac, RealPlayer provides video format conversion (AVI, MOV, MP4, etc.) as well as video-to-MP3 for listening only. RealTimes for iOS and Android turn photos and videos into stories set to music.

Paid versions of RealPlayer support HD resolution, DVD burning, cloud storage and other features. Originally the media player for RealAudio and RealVideo formats, RealPlayer was briefly renamed RealOne in the early 2000s. See RealAudio and RealVideo.
