A shopping service that shares its commission with users who click affiliate links to make a purchase. Pronounced "rack-uh-ten," shoppers obtain their cash-back from Rakuten Rewards by using a browser extension, mobile app or computer, and major retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, Kohls and Macy's are Rakuten affiliates. Debuting as Ebates in 1999, the service was acquired by Japan-based Rakuten, Inc. in 2014.
